Mackintosh Room Paper Complete
by Laurel ~ February 23rd, 2010
The Mackintosh room looks beautiful and is just as we envisioned it, only better. The walls were prepped correctly and all the woodwork was painted. It looks beautiful and we are looking forward to reassembling the room later this week.
Every time I am on the second floor, I wander into the room and feel awestruck. We only need thoroughly clean the floor and get the doors hung before the fun part of reassembly and decorating begins.
In pulling the room together for a final look is the wallpaper is darker than we thought it would be, based on the sample we had. We did leave the woodwork white, and this will make a difference, as will the white curtains. I did have two chairs with a gold color upholstery planned for the room, though now I am coveting the idea of a lighter raspberry color. We shall see when the assembly begins. Modifications to the current vision may be in order.
This week I will finishing painting the bathroom doors and begin creating a design to be decoupaged on the baseboard in the adjoining bathroom. Something I hope will pull the room together. That will be another post.
