There isn’t much to see here as yet, but there will be soon enough. My personal interests include genealogy and history. The history of a community is fascinating and I have been learning a lot about Yates County. So hang on, as I pull together some interesting snippets of information about this region.

On a back road west of Geneva, chasing the setting sun toward Penn Yan, Laurel and I spotted this cat snoozing in the high window of a stone barn. Still warm in the fresh shadows, he appeared intent on completing his nap and remained supremely unintimidated by my approach and mumbles and clickings.

–Ah, Nature!
–A gently meandering stream, its glassy surface reflects the verdant boughs and cirrus wisps of a late summer afternoon.
–Within its cool bosom: flitting minnows, marine ferns, mossy rocks, lily pads, semi-drowned shopping cart.
